JASMINE ST. RESIDENCE
Completed: December 2018
Mid-century modern vibes meet rich earth tones in this Southmoor Park home remodeled for a growing family. Originally built in the late 1950s, the ranch-style home was stripped of its mid-century style in a previous remodel. Our goal was to create a more functional living and dining space while restoring some of the home’s retro personality.
To give the fireplace—the focal point of the living room—a modern upgrade, we stuccoed over the brick facade, added a custom walnut linear mantle and painted the remaining brick black for added contrast.
Layers of lively texture and color were added throughout the living room and dining room—a bold emerald-green grasscloth wallpaper was paired with warm wood furnishings and a geometric rug in the dining room, while a shaggy sage-green rug, velvet sofa and pops of pattern add interest to the bright living room.
To accommodate the family’s lifestyle, the space was reconfigured by turning one living space into a dining area and adding a toddler-friendly playspace. Custom furniture pieces were made with durable fabrics, and the stylish play corner was outfitted with oversized pillows, a drawing table and reading nook.
